Description
The Coyote is the first collaboration from Emmanuel with Reate resulting in a high quality flipper folder with distictive "Le Brun" design and Reate's top production quality.
The blade is made from ultra premium Bohler M390 steel, a modern stainless steel with extreem good edge retention and excellent corrosion resistance. Sharpening is relatively easy. The blade has a false edge along most of the blade spine, a flat grind with fine stonewashe finish and satin on the flats.
The handle is made from two titanium scales connected by a beautiful "floating" backspacer. The scales feauture big carbon fiber inlays (absolutely flush inlayed in the titanium) and the titanium has a soft gloss bead blasted finish.A pocketclip, 3-D milled from titanium, follows the lines of the handle and is positioned for tip-up carry. Nice clean detail is the hidden construction to hold the clip.
The framelock has a steel insert that functions as the interface between steel blade ramp and titanium lockbar to prevent lock stick and wear. It also incorporates an overtravel stop to prevent over-stretching the lockbar.A very special detail on the Coyote is the use of a flattened detent ball for almost frictionless contact.
Opening the knife is easy and fast with the flipper and ceramic ball bearings ensure an ultra smooth blade action. The Coyote is a beautifully executed design from only the most premium materials and an excellent choise when looking for a lightweight and stylish EDC folder.
