Bestech Hedron: Which Tactical Fixed Blade Color Is Best?

Ostap Hel has designed some of my favorite EDC tools, and the Hedron series for Bestech is a perfect example of his approach: clean lines, purposeful geometry, and no-nonsense materials. I've been testing all four variants—the BFK02A, BFK02B, BFK02C, and BFK02D—and they share a rugged, capable core. The blade is a 3.76-inch D2 steel with a stonewash or black stonewash finish, the handle is either durable G10 or warm micarta, and the overall length is 8.21 inches. The weight varies slightly, with the micarta version coming in lighter at 118 grams. This is a fixed blade built for serious work, and the color options let you choose your flavor.

The Shared Foundation: A Purpose-Built Tool

Every Hedron shares Ostap Hel's thoughtful design. The D2 steel blade is 3.76 inches long and 0.118 inches thick—sturdy enough for prying and tough cutting, but still a capable slicer. The stonewash finish (or black stonewash on the C) is forgiving and hides wear. The full tang construction ensures durability. The handle is ergonomically shaped for a secure grip, whether you're using it for camp chores or tactical tasks. The included Kydex sheath (implied) is standard. The differences in handle material and color are where you make it your own.

BFK02A (Stonewash D2 / Black G10): The Stealth Operator

The BFK02A is the most understated of the group. It features a stonewashed D2 blade and a black G10 handle. The black G10 is durable, grippy, and professional—it doesn't scream for attention. At 132.5 grams, it has a solid, reassuring heft. This is the version for the purist who wants a no-nonsense, all-business fixed blade that will blend in with any kit. It's the one I'd grab for everyday utility work.

BFK02B (Stonewash D2 / Green G10): The Outdoor Naturalist

The BFK02B swaps black for a vibrant green G10 handle. The green is earthy and highly visible, making this knife easier to spot in the woods or a cluttered pack. The stonewashed D2 blade remains the same. This version feels more oriented toward outdoor adventures. The green G10 is just as durable as black, but adds a pop of personality. If you spend time in the field and want a knife that's both functional and easy to find, the BFK02B is a great choice.

BFK02C (Black Stonewash D2 / Orange G10): The High-Visibility Performer

The BFK02C is impossible to ignore. It pairs a black stonewashed D2 blade with a striking orange G10 handle. The black blade is sleek, non-reflective, and adds corrosion resistance. The orange handle is incredibly vibrant, making this knife a true standout. At 132.5 grams, it's the same weight as the A and B, but with a bold, tactical-meets-safety look. If you want a knife that's both functional and highly visible—or you just love the color orange—the BFK02C is a fantastic pick.

BFK02D (Stonewash D2 / Brown Canvas Micarta): The Premium Naturalist

The BFK02D is the most premium of the quartet. It features a stonewashed D2 blade and a handle of brown canvas micarta. Micarta is a composite of canvas and resin that's warm, grippy, and develops a beautiful patina with use. At 118 grams, it's also significantly lighter than the G10 versions. The brown color is rich and organic. This version feels like a heirloom-quality tool. If you appreciate natural materials and want a knife that will age gracefully, the BFK02D is the ultimate choice.

Which Hedron Fits Your Hand?

All four share Ostap Hel's excellent design and the reliable D2 steel. The BFK02A is the stealthy, all-business operator. The BFK02B is an outdoor-friendly naturalist. The BFK02C is a high-visibility performer. And the BFK02D is a premium, lightweight micarta masterpiece. Whichever you choose, you're getting a purpose-built fixed blade that's ready for whatever you throw at it.
