Bestech QUQU B-Series: Five Aluminum Colors – Which Button Lock EDC Suits Your Style?

The QUQU quickly became one of my favorite small EDCs, thanks to its button lock and featherlight G10 build. Now, the B-series arrives with a new twist: aluminum handles. I’ve been carrying the BG57B-1, BG57B-2, BG57B-3, and BG57B-5—the BG57B-4 is currently unavailable—and they share the same compact platform as the original, but with a different feel. The 2.2-inch 14C28N steel blade, snappy button lock, and ceramic bearings are all here. But the switch from G10 to aluminum adds weight (now 51 grams) and a sleek, metallic texture. The colors are bold, and the choice between satin and black PVD blades gives you five distinct options (four available).

The Shared Foundation: A Compact Button Lock, Now in Aluminum

Every QUQU B-series shares the same excellent design as the original. The 2.2-inch 14C28N steel blade is a modern stainless—great edge retention, easy to sharpen, and corrosion-resistant. The 3mm blade thickness is perfect for a small slicer. The button lock is smooth and intuitive, and the ceramic ball bearing pivot ensures snappy deployment. The difference is the handle: aluminum alloy, which gives the knife a more substantial, premium feel at 51 grams (compared to 44g for G10). The closed length is still 3.27 inches, and the overall length is 5.47 inches. The steel clip is reversible. The handle color and blade finish are where you make it your own.

The Satin Blade Trio (BG57B-1, B-2, B-3): Clean and Classic

The first three variants feature a classic satin-finished 14C28N blade—clean, traditional, and easy to maintain. The BG57B-1 has a sleek black aluminum handle, understated and professional. The BG57B-2 offers a vibrant green aluminum handle, perfect for those who want a pop of color with a metallic finish. The BG57B-3 features a warm brown aluminum handle, a neutral, earthy option that’s versatile and refined. All three weigh 51 grams and share the same satin blade. (Note: BG57B-4 is currently unavailable; it would have completed a fourth color option.)

The Black PVD Blade (BG57B-5): Sleek and Rugged

The BG57B-5 stands alone with a black PVD-coated 14C28N blade—sleek, non-reflective, and resistant to corrosion. It’s paired with a striking purple aluminum handle, a bold, modern combination that’s both eye-catching and durable. At 51 grams, it shares the same solid feel as its satin-blade siblings. This is the version for those who want their knife to make a statement, combining the ruggedness of a coated blade with a vibrant, metallic handle.

Which QUQU B-Series Fits Your Pocket?

The B-series QUQU offers a different experience from the G10 original. The aluminum handles add a touch of weight and a sleek, metallic feel that many EDC enthusiasts will appreciate. The satin blade trio—black, green, and brown—offers classic, clean finishes. The black PVD version with purple handle adds a bold, modern edge. Whichever you choose (with the BG57B-4 currently missing from the lineup), you’re getting a lightweight, snappy button-lock EDC that’s perfect for fifth-pocket carry—now with a premium aluminum upgrade.
