Jetbeam E28 Review: 3300 Lumens, RGB, And A Laser In One Pocket Light
Jetbeam E28 3300 lumen all in one EDC flashlight with RGB auxiliary light UV emitter and green laser

Overview & First Impressions

The E28 is Jetbeam's answer to a question most torch makers avoid: what if one pocket light did the job of four? Inside a single aluminium body it packs a broad flood emitter, a focused spotlight rated to 2,480 lumens and 365 metres, a bank of nine customisable RGB settings, a dedicated UV emitter and a green laser. Peak white output sits at 3,300 lumens. This is not a novelty collection of party tricks either, because every mode has a real job, from inspecting a hotel room to signalling across a field after dark.

Build Quality & Materials

Aerospace aluminium with a hard anodised finish houses the optics, and each emitter cluster sits behind tempered glass. The dual-emitter optical design is the interesting engineering: a wide reflector handles the flood side while a deeper section concentrates the spotlight, so the beam does not compromise between coverage and reach. Threads are square cut and anodised for wear, the tail is flat enough to stand the light upright, and the whole assembly still fits the size envelope of an ordinary EDC flashlight. Across the Jetbeam flashlights range this is the most complex optical stack yet.

Design & Craftsmanship

Interface design is where multi-function lights usually fall apart, and Jetbeam has kept the E28 deliberately shallow. A single side switch cycles the primary white output, while the auxiliary emitters sit behind short-press geometry of their own, so you never have to memorise a long menu to reach the laser or the UV. Memory returns you to your last white-light level, which matters far more in daily use than the RGB showpiece settings. It reads as a considered tool rather than a feature list, an impression reinforced by the clean, uncluttered body.

Performance & Real-World Use

In practice the flood setting lights a campsite or a garage bay, and the spotlight punches far enough to identify a gatepost or a treeline. The UV emitter earns its place for leak detection, curing adhesives, and checking documents, while the green laser is genuinely useful for pointing out a route or calling attention on a job site. Runtime on the middle white settings covers a full evening of intermittent use, and USB charging means one cable covers the light, the phone and any other Nitecore flashlights you have in the bag.

Carry & Ownership Notes

Carry options are sorted: a two-way clip, a lanyard hole, and a body that disappears into a jacket pocket without a bulge. Because the auxiliary emitters draw so little current, the RGB and UV modes can run for hours after the main white light has been dialled down. If you already carry a compact torch and a separate UV light, the E28 consolidates the whole set into one object. It is not aimed at the Jetbeam tactical flashlights buyer who wants a single brute-force beam, but for everyone else the consolidation is the point.

Who Is This For?

Buy this if you want one light that covers inspection, signalling, camping and everyday tasks without carrying a pouch of specialist tools. Skip it if you only ever need white light at one brightness, because the E28's value lives in the modes you would otherwise buy separately.

Final Verdict

The E28 is the most feature-dense light Jetbeam has shipped this year, and unlike most multi-emitter designs the extra modes are genuinely useful rather than decorative. If you want a single pocket light that answers four different problems, this is the one to buy at EdcMall.
