The Bestechman Dundee BMK01-W-7 combines a practical folding design with the warm appearance of a golden sandalwood handle. Its 3.35-inch D2 tool steel blade features a stonewash and satin finish and is hardened to 59–61 HRC, offering a durable edge for outdoor and everyday cutting tasks. At 8.07 inches overall, this knife balances a 4.73-inch handle with a 0.125-inch-thick blade. A liner lock secures the blade open, while the deep-carry pocket clip supports left- or right-side carry. Weighing just 2.86 ounces, the Dundee is easy to carry on hikes, camping trips, or daily outings. Designed by Ostap Hel and made in China, it pairs functional details with distinctive natural handle material. D2 steel can corrode, so keep the blade clean and dry.
D2 Blade Introduction
D2 tool steel is a high-carbon, high-chromium air-hardening alloy renowned for its exceptional hardness and wear resistance. It bridges the gap between carbon and stainless steel, offering formidable edge retention and toughness suitable for heavy-duty tasks. However, its high chromium content is insufficient for a "stainless" classification, making it prone to corrosion if not properly maintained. Additionally, its extreme structural density makes it notoriously difficult to sharpen, requiring advanced abrasives and patience to restore a keen edge.
