The Bestechman Cicada's Wing-TL represents a refined evolution in everyday carry design. The 10Cr15CoMoV blade—a high-carbon stainless steel enriched with molybdenum and vanadium—balances excellent edge retention with corrosion resistance. Its exceptionally thin 3.15" modified drop point blade maintains remarkable sharpness for practical cutting tasks. At just 2.57 ounces, the lightweight black G10 handle pairs seamlessly with the black PVD blade finish. The deep-carry pocket clip accommodates both left and right-handed carry. CICADA’S WING-TL
The original bar Lock version of the Cicada’s Wing was built with everyday carry in mind. Its exceptionally thin blade, practical modified drop point profile, and remarkably smooth action came together in a lightweight, dependable in hand and pocket friendly design that captured the attention of EDC enthusiasts.
As the Cicada’s Wing continued to gain popularity, we also received an incredible amount of feedback from our community. From praise for what they loved to thoughtful suggestions for what could be improved, every comment helped us better understand what made the knife special and where we could take it next.
For this new generation, we've transitioned to a modern Top Liner Lock design. The result is a cleaner, more streamlined handle profile that offers a more comfortable and confident grip. At the core, it delivers the solid, dependable lockup you expect for everyday cutting tasks.
We’ve carried over many of the beloved blade and handle color combinations from the original, while introducing exciting new pairings to give the CICADA’S WING-TL a fresh look. 10Cr15MoV Blade Introduction
10Cr15MoV is a high-carbon stainless steel widely recognized for delivering an excellent balance of affordability, corrosion resistance, and edge retention. Enriched with molybdenum and vanadium, it achieves a commendable level of hardness and wear resistance, making it highly effective for standard culinary and everyday carry tasks. However, unlike its cobalt-bearing sibling 10Cr15CoMoV, it lacks the enhanced hardness and peak edge longevity that cobalt provides. Its primary drawbacks include a susceptibility to micro-chipping under high-impact conditions and a moderate difficulty in sharpening compared to lower-carbon steels.
