About Design
Kosame (Japanese: 小雨; Light Rain) is a blend of elegance and power, emphasizing the subtle yet relentless force of light rain. The handle, with its gentle curves and smooth lines, ensures an ergonomic grip and embodies the elegance of calm rain.
Cutouts on the handle symbolize droplets, enhancing both the aesthetic appeal and ergonomic grip. These cutouts are mirrored on the blade, serving as functional jimping that ensures a secure hold while visually connecting the handle and blade, symbolizing the continuous impact of rain.
In contrast to the gentle handle, the blade features sharp, straight lines, highlighting the destructive power that light rain can wield over time. As the saying goes, “Rain, though gentle, can erode mountains over time.”
