Enriched with molybdenum and vanadium, it achieves a commendable level of hardness and wear resistance, making it highly effective for standard culinary and everyday carry tasks. However, unlike its cobalt-bearing sibling 10Cr15CoMoV, it lacks the enhanced hardness and peak edge longevity that cobalt provides. Its primary drawbacks include a susceptibility to micro-chipping under high-impact conditions and a moderate difficulty in sharpening compared to lower-carbon steels.
