The TRIVISA Firefly Ultra-ST YD04-ST-T is a lightweight folding knife designed for everyday carry and outdoor adventures. Its 2.99-inch titanium blade features a bead-blasted finish and a distinctive swedge profile, while the titanium handle creates a clean, cohesive look. A crossbar lock secures the blade during use, and ceramic ball bearings support smooth opening. Titanium Blade Introduction
Titanium (typically utilized as an alloy such as Ti-6Al-4V) is a specialized, non-ferrous blade material celebrated for total corrosion immunity against saltwater, an outstanding strength-to-weight ratio, and non-magnetic properties. It exhibits remarkable structural ductility and fracture toughness without the risk of rusting. However, unlike traditional cutlery steels, titanium suffers from low base hardness and an inherent lack of wear-resistant carbides, resulting in inferior edge retention. The cutting apex dulls rapidly under abrasive contact unless surface-carbidized, making it ideal for specialized dive utility rather than sustained slicing tasks.
