The Bestechman Dundee BMK01-W-4 combines practical proportions with the distinctive character of olive wood. Its 3.35-inch D2 blade has a stonewashed finish and a hardness of 59–61 HRC, offering wear resistance and edge retention for everyday outdoor tasks. Since D2 is not fully stainless, clean and dry the blade after use to help prevent corrosion. The 4.73-inch handle provides a comfortable grip, while the liner lock secures the blade open during use. Measuring 8.07 inches overall and weighing 2.79 ounces, this folding knife balances reach with portability. A reversible deep-carry pocket clip supports left- or right-side carry. Designed by Ostap Hel and made in China, the Dundee pairs functional details with natural materials for camping, hiking, and everyday carry.
D2 Blade Introduction
D2 tool steel is a high-carbon, high-chromium air-hardening alloy renowned for its exceptional hardness and wear resistance. It bridges the gap between carbon and stainless steel, offering formidable edge retention and toughness suitable for heavy-duty tasks. However, its high chromium content is insufficient for a "stainless" classification, making it prone to corrosion if not properly maintained. Additionally, its extreme structural density makes it notoriously difficult to sharpen, requiring advanced abrasives and patience to restore a keen edge.
