Care & Maintenance
- Wipe the body with a damp cloth. Do not use solvents, thinners or alcohol on the anti-static plastic - they attack the housing and can void the IS rating.
- Never open the light or change batteries inside a hazardous area. Battery changes belong in a safe zone.
- Use only the battery type stated on the certification label. Substituting rechargeables or mixing brands changes the energy profile the light was certified at.
- Check the O-rings and tail-cap seal for grit or cuts every time you change batteries, and fit the supplied spare if one is damaged.
- Do not over-tighten the tail cap. Snug is enough; over-torquing deforms the seal and degrades the IP rating.
- Remove the batteries for long-term storage. Alkaline cells leak, and a leak inside a certified housing means a factory service, not a wipe-down.
- Clean the glass lens with a soft, lint-free cloth. Abrasive rags will haze the lens and visibly cut beam quality.
- If the housing, lens or switch shows cracks, dents or a scorch mark, take the light out of service - intrinsic safety certification is void after impact damage.
- Store it with the head down and the switch protected, and never leave it in a hot vehicle; heat ages plastic housings and battery seals.
- Have the light re-inspected on your normal IS equipment schedule. Certification is a maintenance obligation, not a one-time purchase.
