ZDP-189 Steel Knives

ZDP-189 steel is a high-performance,powdered metallurgy tool steel produced by Hitachi Metals.It has a carbon content of 3.00%and chromium content of 20.00%,which contribute to its exceptional hardness(65–67 HRC)and wear resistance.Despite its high chromium content,ZDP-189 has moderate corrosion resistance due to the formation of carbides that reduce free chromium.It is known for its excellent edge retention and is used in high-end knives and cutting tools.However,it is challenging to sharpen and requires careful maintenance to prevent rust.
