CPM-MagnaCut is a revolutionary powder-metallurgy steel specifically engineered to break the traditional trade-offs in cutlery metallurgy, offering an extraordinary combination of high toughness, superb wear resistance, and near-saltwater-grade corrosion resistance. By eliminating chromium carbides from its microstructure, it achieves exceptional edge stability and resistance to chipping under heavy use. Its primary drawback is a minor compromise in absolute wear resistance compared to extreme, high-vanadium alloys like CPM-S90V, alongside a higher premium cost and a requirement for precise heat treatment to unlock its full potential.
