Description
The Bestechman Smuga BMK22B features an AEB-L blade—a premium razor steel prized for exceptional toughness, ease of sharpening, and razor-fine edges. Its uniform microstructure resists chipping, making it ideal for precision cutting. The 3.55" blade pairs with a comfortable 4.37" yellow G10 handle, delivering a balanced 7.92" overall length. Hardened to 61-62 HRC via cryogenic treatment, this liner lock folder weighs just 2.75 oz. The deep-carry pocket clip supports left or right carry. Designed by Grzegorz Grabarski and made in China, this knife excels for EDC and outdoor use. Note: AEB-L requires basic maintenance to prevent corrosion due to lower chromium content.
AEB-L Blade Introduction
AEB-L is a specialized razor blade steel celebrated for its exceptional toughness, ease of sharpening, and ability to take an incredibly fine, razor-sharp edge. Thanks to its uniform microstructure with very small, evenly distributed chromium carbides, it offers excellent stability and resistance to chipping, making it a favorite for kitchen and thin-geometry knives. However, its primary trade-off is relatively low wear resistance, meaning it loses its peak sharpness faster than high-carbide powder steels. Additionally, while stainless, its lower free chromium content requires basic care to prevent corrosion.
