10Cr15MoV is a high-carbon stainless steel widely recognized for delivering an excellent balance of affordability, corrosion resistance, and edge retention. However, unlike its cobalt-bearing sibling 10Cr15CoMoV, it lacks the enhanced hardness and peak edge longevity that cobalt provides. Its primary drawbacks include a susceptibility to micro-chipping under high-impact conditions and a moderate difficulty in sharpening compared to lower-carbon steels.
