10Cr15MoV Blade Introduction
10Cr15MoV is a high-carbon stainless steel—widely regarded as the equivalent to Japanese VG-10—engineered for balanced slicing performance. Its greatest strengths include exceptional corrosion resistance, dependable edge retention, and the ability to achieve a razor-sharp apex that remains relatively straightforward to resharpen. Conversely, its primary compromise is moderate impact toughness; due to its elevated hardness, the edge can be susceptible to micro-chipping under heavy lateral torque or abusive impact tasks compared to tougher tool steels.
